The Ins and Outs of Working for the Government

Hello, good day to all. My family owns a trucking company on St. John. Apart from the regular trucking that we do, we also work for the government hauling trash from St. John to St. Thomas at the Bovoni Landfill. My company has three roll-off trucks and about 30 bins that we have distributed throughout the island of St. John for citzens to throw their trash in. We have been working for the government for a few years now and enjoy what we do. This job is very demanding and requires us to work 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There are many mornings that I have started work at 5:30 and finish around 6 or 7 oclock. This is mainly because we have to travel on the barge and the traffic between St. Thomas and St. John is pretty heavy. The only problem we have with working for the government is the fact that they take so long to pay. Sometimes it seems like we have to beg for our money or else we will never get it. It is a shame our the government of the Virgin Islands make so many businesses suffer because they don't pay whenever they want. My family works so hard to make sure that the job that we do for the government gets done. I wish that the government would do the right thing and take care of the many businesses that keep the island running efficiently.
